Supporting people and the pets that support them
Pet food donations for Lower Austrian social market
Rising living costs are making everyday life increasingly difficult for many households. When budgets are tight, even basic responsibilities can become a challenge, including caring for pets that often play a vital emotional role in people’s lives.
To help ease this burden, our Lower Austria plant, Constantia Teich, joined forces with saturn petcare to support customers of soogut Social Market Sankt Poelten. Together, the two companies donated more than 5,000 trays of cat and dog food, helping people in financial hardship continue to care for their animal companions.
Pets as emotional anchors in difficult times
For many people in vulnerable situations, pets are far more than companions. They provide structure, closeness, and a sense of responsibility and often serve as an essential source of emotional stability in uncertain times. At the same time, pet food is only rarely available through social markets, creating additional pressure on already limited household resources.
This donation directly addresses that gap. By making pet food accessible where it is most needed, and without having to sacrifice basic needs.
“For us, this donation means far more than being able to offer pet food at reduced prices,” says Wolfgang Brillmann, Managing Director of soogut Social Markets. “We know that many of our customers put their pets’ needs before their own, sometimes even skipping meals. No one should have to make that choice.”
“Solidarity strengthens our communities,” says Peter Wallach, Member of the extended Management Board at Constantia Teich. “This donation is a small but meaningful contribution and a sign that people are not alone when they need support.”
