Support for a New Plastics Economy
Constantia Flexibles endorses report calling for strategies to dramatically increase recycling of plastic packaging at World Economic Forum
At the Davos World Economic Forum gathering a new report was launched on January 16, 2017 with the support of some large companies in the plastics industry. The report “The New Plastics Economy: Catalysing Action” from the World Economic Forum and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation is calling for strategies to dramatically increase recycling of plastic packaging. It argues for a major rethink of plastic packaging and bills itself as a “transition strategy for better package design and increased recycling rates.
The report is endorsed by over 40 industry leaders – among them the CEO of Constantia Flexibles.
“The report provides a global action plan to transition towards a plastics system that works, aligned with the principles of the circular economy. We certainly want to be a part of that. As an active member of NPEC and one of the world's leading manufacturers of flexible packaging and labels, Constantia Flexibles understands the importance of modern plastic packaging design,” our CEO said. “We are glad to see how the New Plastics Economy initiative is bringing together other major players in the plastic packaging value chain to improve design and thus create both economic and environmental benefits for all stakeholders.”
