Rivergate: Where more sustainable design meets everyday innovation
Choosing Rivergate as the home of our headquarters was a deliberate decision. The building, recently awarded BREEAM Outstanding - the highest certification for sustainable buildings — sets leading standards in sustainability that align closely with our own mission. By locating our teams in an environment designed for efficiency, responsibility, and wellbeing, we ensure that the place where ideas grow reflects the values behind our packaging solutions.

Designing for energy efficiency
Energy efficiency was a core principle in Rivergate’s design. The building uses advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, coupled with smart sensors and building automation, to minimize energy use without compromising comfort. LED lighting with occupancy and daylight sensors further reduces electricity demand. Combined, these measures significantly lower Rivergate’s carbon footprint and operational energy consumption.
Resource management that makes a difference
Water and materials are closely monitored. The building incorporates rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling, reducing potable water use and easing pressure on local water systems. Building materials were carefully selected for low environmental impact, favoring recycled, locally sourced, and low-emission products. Even everyday operations, such as waste management, follow strict protocols to maximize recycling and minimize landfill contribution.

A healthy, productive workplace
Sustainability isn’t only about energy or materials, it’s about the people who occupy the space. Rivergate’s interior design prioritizes natural light, air quality, and biophilic elements, such as indoor plants and natural materials, to improve employee wellbeing. Open, flexible workspaces encourage collaboration, while quiet zones and ergonomic furniture ensure comfort. Studies consistently show that such environments boost productivity and creativity - proof that sustainability benefits both the planet and the people on it.
Embedding sustainability in daily life
Rather than prescribing habits, the building makes responsible choices intuitive: from recycling stations to energy-saving systems. By working in a space designed with these principles in mind, building occupants experience sustainability as a part of their daily environment.
Mirroring our packaging philosophy
Rivergate reflects the same principles we at Constantia Flexibles apply to our packaging solutions: efficiency, responsibility, and measurable impact. Our flexible packaging is designed to reduce material usage, lower carbon emissions, and support recycling and circular economy initiatives.
In Rivergate, we live the same values - designing processes and spaces that optimize resources, reduce environmental impact, and support human wellbeing.
