ASI Chain of Custody certification for Constantia Teich

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative

Constantia Flexibles is pleased to announce that the company’s largest plant, Constantia Teich in Austria, successfully completed the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Chain of Custody audit in October 2019 and has officially received the Chain of Custody certification.

In 2018, Constantia Teich became the first aluminium foil roller and packaging converter and the first European company to be certified according to the ASI Performance Standard for environmental, social and governance performance.

Thomas Greigeritsch, Vice President Group Sustainability said “As one of the founding members of the ASI, who has accompanied the development of these standards since the very beginning, we are especially proud to have achieved ASI Chain of Custody certification. Receiving this recognition from the ASI is a further confirmation of our efforts in the area of responsible sourcing and we are committed to continue on this path together with our suppliers and customers.

The ASI Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard complements the ASI Performance Standard and sets out requirements for the creation of a Chain of Custody for CoC Material, including ASI Aluminium, which is produced and processed through the value chain. A ‘chain of custody’ is a documented sequence of custody of material as it is transferred along the supply chain. CoC Material is a collective term for ASI Bauxite, ASI Alumina, ASI Liquid Metal, ASI Cold Metal and ASI Aluminium produced by ASI CoC Certified Entities in accordance with the CoC Standard.
