What does your typical day involve? 

  • Attending Production meetings
  • Visiting customers locally and around South Africa and Africa based on new projects and material forecasting.
  • Conducting staff meetings
  • Addressing customers queries, budgets and forecasts
  • Managing day to day business around production and planning of the plant.
  • Material forecasting internally and H&N orders for foil & Paper

How did you get started in this industry? 

While doing my 2 year national service I started foiling business cards to bring in extra income, offered a position after national service as a photo lithographer and worked my way through estimating and into sales with a label & Litho based company and have been in print sales and print management since 1990, have not worked in any other industry besides packaging.

What are your favorite sports or pastimes? 

  • Favorite sports is motorsport of any kind, currently I race in an Inland race series competing in the BMW Club race series and 2016 class D champion.
  • Favorite pastime sport has been sailing, windsurfing and water skiing.

Do you have a favorite sports team that you root for? 

  • Local rugby team called Western Province Stormers
  • Manchester United and Bayern Supporter
  • Williams Formula 1 team 

What would people be surprised to know about you? 

That I was involved with BMW clubs for over 15 years and was elected as chairman of BMW Clubs Africa in 2003 to represent BMW Africa reporting to BMW AG GmbH.

What is your favorite band, movie, or book? 

  • Band – Depeche Mode 
  • Movie - Shawshank redemption & The Green Mile
  • Book – Unlimited Power – Tony Robbins

What was your favorite holiday/vacation? 

  • Maldives – best place to unwind and loads of watersports
  • Local has to be Cape Town
